The Art of Live Looping
ANDY TICHENOR
Live looping performance has become more and more popular with many different looping effect pedals currently on the market. Anyone who has given a crack at looping will tell you how difficult it actually is. Combine the learning curve with the pressure of the stage, little amount of forgiveness it gives and you’re met with an incredible challenge. Andy has 5 years of live looping performance experience under his belt and is prepared to share his knowledge, tips, and secrets in this workshop to give the students a better understanding of how to grasp the concept of Live Looping on guitar and other performance instruments.
Bio
Having grown up in Shenandoah, Andy developed a love for genuine sound and music from an early age. Starting his musical journey in choirs and Jazz Band throughout High School, continuing on to develop chops in the music community of Chicago. Finally settling back home in Virginia, Andy continues to push his ability through various projects in the area, mainly regional touring with his band Sisters & Brothers, playing fresh interpretations of the Jerry Garcia Band catalog, as well, working on their first original album.
In addition, he can be seen playing around Central VA with Grateful Dead Tribute: Bigfoot County. Andy cut his teeth playing solo acoustic and can be found performing in this classic arrangement on any given day of the week. Developing a true skill for solo performance and instrument looping to bring a fun positive energy to any given show. Mixing his roots of bluegrass and folk with a formative background in jazz and rock, throwing psychedelic touches to round out a wholesome performance anywhere he goes!
