Tending Bees: The Spikenard Method
Anthea van GelovenThe honeybee crisis calls upon us human beings to act differently and think differently. In this workshop we will begin to form a relationship between the honeybee and the human being by cultivating deep understanding. We will discuss the different organs that form the hive organism – the workers, drones, queen, the wax comb, the pantry of pollen and nectar, the hive cavity and the landscape that surrounds the hive. We will cover topics such as swarming, overwintering and feeding and then conclude with a review of the 7 basic requirements for honeybee health as outlined by the Spikenard Method of Biodynamic Beekeeping.
