Eating Our Way To The Future: Potlucks For Exponential Change
In late 2011 a group of farmers and local food advocates started gathering for monthly potlucks and the Land & Table network was born. At the beginning, the conversation over dinner included: “What can we do to grow and support the local food movement?”. Now, almost ten years later, many lessons have been learned along the way.
Join us for this interactive session as we unpack lessons on relocalizing personal presence, reviving our regional foodsheds, and how potlucks as a communal practice could be the very thing we need to reshape our future as the forces of digital technology and globalization tear at our social, economic, and cultural fabric. We will also touch on the agrarian philosophy of Wendell Berry and how to move from community as an ideal, to community as a local reality.
