What is this & Can I eat it?

Michael Okuley

This workshop will focus on the most highly prized and sought-after species of wild edible mushrooms that are native to Virginia and the Appalachian Mountains. There are more than 25 varieties of wild edible fungi that are considered delicacies.

If possible, weather and time permitting, we hope to be able to schedule a group foray in some nearby woodlands.

Bio:

Michael Okuley is a self-taught forager of wild edible mushrooms and has been doing so for more than 10 years. Well-traveled, he has hunted and documented mushrooms in 10 states and 4 countries (so far), offers guided hunts and is currently working on his first book on successful foraging.
