Anna Wills
Grab your swimsuit and sandals and meet us at Reed Creek. We'll get wet and play in the creek as we search for benthic macro invertebrates. That's just a fancy word for Creek critters! As we find creek critters like crawdads, water pennies, gilled snails, and caddisfly condos, we will learn more about the health of Reed Creek. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult to this program.
Teacher Bio:
Anna Wills and her family live and farm at Bramble Hollow Farm in Bedford County and are lucky to be able to explore its creeks and drainages. Anna has taught environmental programs to kids and adults for over 20 years. After receiving her degree in environmental science, she began working for Virginia State Parks and then later at Virginia's Explore Park. Anna doesn't mind picking up slithering, wriggly critters and loves sharing the outdoors with the next generation of natural science enthusiasts.
