Into the Dragons Lair: children’s theatre and movement workshop

Children are taken on an enchanted adventure through a mystical forest, over a mountain top, and into a hungry dragon's layer in "Into the Dragon's Lair." Children will connect with their bodies and the environment around them by participating in this workshop where they can tumble, climb, and explore authentic movement. Come discover the delight of fusing movement with music and acting out your innermost fantasies under the guidance of a real magical fairy!

Teacher Bio:

For the past 21 years, Cherish Dobbins has been shaping the lives of children and adults through dance. Born and raised in Virginia, Cherish graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University's department of dance in 2007. She later went on to be a dance instructor for prestigious organizations such as The Richmond Ballet and The University of Mary Washington after a robust career in theatre and dance. Cherish’s talents have given her the honor of being a featured performer and choreographer on numerous stages across the globe including those in New York City, Washington DC , Vermont, and at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. Her favorite roles have included the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Maria in West Side Story, Ursula's Eel in The Little Mermaid and various featured roles in contemporary dances for Billy T Jones, Monica Bill Barnes and Robert Battles “Battleworks”. Cherish currently has the honor of performing and choreographing for DMC, teaching dance and theatre throughout Virginia and getting all the snuggles she can from her twins.
