Helping Your Community Heal with Functional Medicine Farming
Ashely Grosch
In this workshop, I will discuss how functional medicine weaves into regenerative farming. Farmers are uniquely positioned in healthcare as the solution for true health. Human biology and plant/farm animal biology are very similar in the sense that all require a very narrow physiological condition in which to operate (called homeostasis). Many farmers miss the link between plant/animal health and human health. Learning the connection can help your community live healthier lives! This encouraging talk inspires the audience to not just grow food for their family but to select an MVP that nurtures their own strength (herbs, market vegetables, etc) to extend a hand of nourishment to their community. The last part of the discussion is a Q&A style forum for clients to ask me specific questions as related to functional medicine or regenerative agriculture. Specific topics covered: - What are the most nutrient dense varieties of fruits and vegetables? - How do I revamp timeless recipes for canning and jamming so they do not contain processed sugar? - How can I effectively teach my consumers about the regenerative lifestyle without making it sound overwhelming? - How do I guide my own family back to health?
