Chelsea Harlan is a poet from Sedalia, Virginia. Her debut full-length collection, Bright Shade, was recently selected by Jericho Brown as the winner of the 2022 American Poetry Review / Honickman First Book Prize, and is forthcoming in September with distribution from Copper Canyon Press. She holds a BA from Bennington College and an MFA in Poetry from Brooklyn College, where she was a Truman Capote Fellow. Her poems have appeared in Sixth Finch, Raleigh Review, The Greensboro Review, The American Poetry Review, and The Southern Poetry Anthology.
