Challenging Outdoor Games
Jon WilliamsCalling school aged youth! Experience the fun of teambuilding activities! Story lines and random objects will be used as you work together as a group to beat a challenge. There’s no need to worry if your group is unsuccessful at “the goal” because knowledge, skills and fun can certainly be gleaned from the experience. Each session is organized to generate opportunities to learn and use teamwork, communication, decision making, leadership skills, and trust. Sessions are fun and fast paced and most include a short, age appropriate debrief to shed light on those “aha” moments.
Two sessions: Grades 3-6 & Grades 7-12
Bio
Jon Williams received his BS in Sports Medicine at Old Dominion University. Some of Jon’s leadership experiences include personal training, ski instructing, raft guiding, ropes course instructing, and later, co-teaching swing dancing with his wife, Kimberly. Jon is currently the Assistant Executive Director of the Harvest Outreach Center, a grassroots non-profit providing mental health services to “at risk” youth in Amherst and Campbell County schools. Jon is a Qualified Mental Health Professional and a Certified Professional in Human Resources. Starting direct care work at Harvest Outreach 15 years ago, Jon began using his love of the outdoors and teambuilding games to teach the youth various social skills, trust, and coping skills. As a director, he continues to use his love for team challenges by leading the staff through icebreaker activities and teambuilding games during trainings throughout the year. Jon always looks forward to helping others, but particularly enjoys having fun while doing something together.
